Eye of the Storm Symbols and Payouts

This game has ten winning paylines across five reels and only pays on left-to-right matches of three or more. Gameplay mostly focuses on obtaining three or more bonus symbols anywhere on the board in order to trigger free spins and multipliers.

Symbols

There are three symbol types: multipliers, expanding wilds, and scatter bonuses. Your basic multipliers are the classic Ace, Jack, Queen, King symbols, but with a bit of Egyptian flair thrown in. Wilds in this game expand to fill a full reel. They take the form of an Egyptian goddess and have an admittedly imposing presence on the board. Finally, there are scatter bonus symbols. These are represented by pyramids that can appear on all five reels, though it only takes three to trigger the free spin feature. Graphics and Sound

You won’t find anything exceptional about the graphics in Eye of the Storm. Your premium multipliers are simple hieroglyphics, engraved pillars flank the reels, and lightning fills the skies over the town in the background. The rendering is well done, and the reels have a nice flow to them – the expanding wilds are especially nice to look at, with a radiant goddess adding her own striking presence to an already foreboding board. 

The soundtrack and sound effects are similarly milquetoast outside of free spins. You have the twangy strings that most Western audiences associate with Egypt or desert regions, fairly non-intrusive sounds for your reels, gong hits to let you know you’ve landed on a bonus tile and a suitably dark overall theme. Again, the free spins are where the game allows itself to shine, as the soundtrack here is more intense and epic, most sound effects are juicier, and the sound of your premium tiles being upgraded every time you land a wild is awesome.     

Eye of the Storm Slot – Conclusion

Eye of the Storm suffers from problems that many contemporary slots also fall into – it tries to work with a theme that’s played out and locks too many of its enjoyable qualities behind free spins.

When you’re in the bonus round, the game comes to life and feels solid as the pyramids. But during regular gameplay, the game can feel a bit flat.
