Pinnacle Review

For our Pinnacle review, we were guided by the usual process we follow for all of our reviews of the best casinos in Canada:

  1. We look up the licence and investigate the security measures in Pinnacle.
  2. We assess the bonuses and promotions in Pinnacle.
  3. We register as a new player in Pinnacle.
  4. We find out which payment methods are accepted in Pinnacle.
  5. We uncover the cryptocurrencies accepted in Pinnacle.
  6. We evaluate Pinnacle’s selection of casino games.
  7. We try to withdraw from Pinnacle to test the ease of use.
  8. We connect with the customer support team at Pinnacle.
  9. We review Pinnacle’s overall play experience.
  10. We go through the responsible gambling page in Pinnacle.

Pinnacle’s licensing, safety and trustworthiness

Just like all of our casino reviews, we begin our Pinnacle review by looking up the casino’s licence and investigating the safety measures the casino employs.

Pinnacle – complete list of licences

  • Curaçao Gaming Control Board – licence no. OGL/2023/105/0084

What makes Pinnacle safe?

24 Slots has an application for a licence from the Curaçao Gaming Control Board currently in process. The license holds 24 Slots to security standards to ensure player safety. Our 24 Slots review dug deeper into what makes 24 Slots safe for players in Canada.

  • Safety of funds – Pinnacle uses 256-bit SSL data encryption to protect financial transactions.
  • Personal security – Pinnacle offers players 2-factor authentication to add an extra layer of protection to their account.
  • Fairness of games – The casino games in Pinnacle all use Random Number Generators to ensure fairness. The casino is also certified fair by third-party auditing company, eCogra.

Pinnacle Awards and Recognitions

With more than twenty years in the gaming industry, Pinnacle has collected a few awards over the years. Here’s some of the most prestigious:

  • 2017: Gaming Intelligence eSports Operator of the Year
  • 2016: EGR eSports Operator of the Year
  • 2016: SBC eSports Bookmaker of the Year

Promotions at Pinnacle

Pinnacle utilizes a different model than most casinos. They don’t offer any bonuses. Instead, they “offer a reduced margin pricing model which guarantees the best value to our customers.” The idea is that an improved pricing model will allow players to make more money in the long-term when they win, providing players with better value than any bonus.

That doesn’t mean the casino doesn’t offer tournaments, because it certainly does.

Pinnacle’s tournaments

Some really solid tournaments are available to join in Pinnacle. There were four months-long competitions running during our Pinnacle review, including one that had $1,000 per day to give away, and the others all with prize pools between $2 million and $5 million.

Pinnacle payment methods

There is a good list of popular payment methods accepted at Pinnacle. We do not like that there is a fee to withdraw from the casino, but the processing times are at least decent. These are the payment methods accepted at Pinnacle in Canada:

Cryptocurrencies available at Pinnacle

A short list of a few of the most popular cryptocurrencies in Canada are accepted in Pinnacle. Again, we do not appreciate the withdrawal fee, and, with crypto, it has doubled from what fiat payment methods are charged. Processing time is, as usual, faster with cryptocurrencies. Here are the cryptocurrencies accepted at Pinnacle in Canada:

Games you can play at Pinnacle

Pinnacle doesn’t have the largest game library, but it does bring a lot of quality. Here, our Pinnacle review will take a look at the slots, live casino, and game shows available, as well as look at the casino’s game providers.

Recommended slots you can play at Pinnacle

While Pinnacle has only around 450 slots in its library, it has filled the selection with uber-popular titles and some of the best games around today. Here’s our top-5 games available at Pinnacle in Canada:

Quality live dealer tables available at Pinnacle

The live casino at Pinnacle is also not very large. In fact, we’ve seen casinos with larger selections of game shows than Pinnacle has live games in total. The limited selection has some nice tables all the same, including roulette, baccarat, and blackjack tables. The live casino has no poker tables, but we did find sic bo, dragon tiger, and Andar Bahar.

Pinnacle - Live Casino

Game shows you can play in Pinnacle

Relative to the size of Pinnacle’s live casino, there’s a decent number of game shows available in the casino, with 7 in total. With Boom City, Mega Wheel, and Sweet Bonanza Candyland, Pinnacle has got some fantastic game show titles in its arsenal despite its short menu.

Pinnacle - Game Shows

Popular game providers 24 Slots works with

There are 18 game providers working with Pinnacle, and the roster includes a good mix of heavyweights and innovators: Hacksaw Gaming, Pragmatic Play, Playson, Spinomenal, Play’n Go, Games Global, and Relax Gaming, to name a few. This is a big reason why, despite the small size of Pinnacle’s game library, it’s still a good one.

Time to collect your winnings? Here’s how to withdraw from Pinnacle

Withdrawing from Pinnacle is easy. Players need to be aware that Pinnacle will likely ask to verify your identity, if they haven’t already, before approving a withdrawal request. Players should be prepared for this.

Documents and information required for identity verification in Pinnacle

Players will need to verify their identity with Pinnacle, sometimes even just to bet. Players should therefore be ready to share the following with the casino:

  • Picture ID (copy of passport, driver’s licence, or national ID card)
  • Recent utility bill listing your name and address

Step-by-step guide on how to withdraw from Pinnacle

Withdrawing from Pinnacle is a very simple process:

  1. Open the dropdown menu under your account ID in the top right.
  2. Click “Withdraw.”
  3. Select the payment method.
  4. Enter the withdrawal amount.
  5. Enter the requested payment method information.
  6. Click “Withdraw.”

Pinnacle’s customer support

Pinnacle has an excellent FAQ page that is very thorough. There is an email and a form on the casino’s contact page. There is also a 24-7 live chat, but it did not work when we tried to connect with someone from their team.

The overall play experience in Pinnacle

Pinnacle looks great with its white on dark blue colour scheme, but the navigation was clunky and there were things that didn’t work properly. When trying to “See All” of the game shows category, for example, we were merely returned to the top of the live casino home page. From one day to the next, the experience changed though: on the second day, a number of game categories appeared where they were not the day previous. Those categories were very useful for searching through the casino, and we can only assume that they are supposed to be there every day. Perhaps we just visited at an odd moment or there was something wrong with our computer on day 1. The navigation was much easier on day 2, so we’ll assume that’s the way Pinnacle is usually. If that’s the case, then it was quite a good experience.

Pinnacle - Mobile

Pinnacle’s mobile experience

Switching to Pinnacle’s mobile version showed us what we were missing on the desktop version on day 1. That includes the aforementioned game categories and ease of navigation. On day 1, we were convinced the mobile version simply offered more. It turns out the desktop version also offers it all.

Which is a round-about way of saying Pinnacle’s casino is completely optimized for mobile use. We would be recommending the mobile version of Pinnacle over the desktop version if this was still day 1 of our experience. The mobile version is good.

Responsible gambling in Pinnacle

Pinnacle’s responsible gambling is really good. As soon as you sign up, a pop-up appears, allowing you to set deposit, session, and loss limits. The page itself is full of useful information, including multiple self-assessment tests and links to help organizations and third-party tools. Self-exclusions and cool-down periods can also be arranged easily in the casino. Pinnacle has done an excellent job with its responsible gambling page.

Plenty to like with this casino

Pinnacle is a singular experience. It’s very rare to find a casino choosing not to offer any bonuses or promotions, but that’s Pinnacle: the casino argues that its reduced margin pricing saves you more money than any bonus could!

There are some truly excellent tournaments available in Pinnacle, especially those who like Crash and Win or Drops and Wins. The games in Pinnacle are very good – it’s not the hugest library by any standard, but it is definitely loaded with quality titles. Those looking for extensive live table options will not find that at Pinnacle, but they will at least find reliable versions of most live games in the live casino.

The look and design of the casino is generally pretty good. Our concern is how the casino seemed to change from day-to-day. Even on day 2 of our experience, the footer menu that provided us with a link to the promotions page disappeared once we started navigating the casino: we had to type the URL into the browser to get back to the promotions page. Pinnacle can be unreliable and a bit clunky to use, even if we like the look and feel.

The support team is good, and the responsible gambling page is excellent in Pinnacle. While there are certainly some short-comings, there is also plenty to like in this casino, which is why our Pinnacle review concludes with an 80/100 final grade.
